Summer is just around the corner, and as we anxiously await Memorial Day weekend– the season’s unofficial arrival– we thought we’d take a look back at a famous face who beat the heat during those lazy, hazy, crazy days last year with her four-legged friend.
A hero to all animals great and small, Hayden Panettiere holds a special place in the heart for her canine companion, Penny Lane. The chocolate lab/water spaniel mix, who came into the actress’s life one Christmas after a stay in a shelter, was a VIP (Very Important Pooch) at Panettiere’s 19th birthday party in August 2008. Penny Lane, seen taking the plunge with her human parent, has a tail-wagging Terrier mix pal named Madison.
