Since his childhood days spent playing with a bevy of barking buddies on the Rosebud Indian Reservation in South Dakota, TV icon Bob Barker has always had an affinity for not only dogs but for all creatures great and small.
Over the years his dedication to all the world’s denizens has led the former king of daytime television to donate millions to universities in support of animal rights, embrace a vegetarian lifestyle, join the fight against the fur trade and blaze a path for pet spay/neuter programs with his DJ&T Foundation.
Fans who grew up watching the game show host on The Price is Right can find out more about his feelings for our four-legged friends in his autobiography, Priceless Memories.
The DJ&T Foundation
“Help control the pet population. Have your pet spayed or neutered.” A man of his word, the familiar phrase Bob Barker used for years as his sign off slogan is also a way of life for the TV legend.
As a loving tribute to two women who shared his passion for pets– his wife, Dorothy Jo and his mother, Matilda “Tilly” Valandra– the DJ&T Foundation was born in 1995. The non-profit organization funds low cost spay/neuter clinics and voucher programs throughout the United States.
