Gidget, who made TV viewers giggle with her portrayal of a fast food-craving canine in a series of Taco Bell ads in the 1990’s, crossed the rainbow bridge on July 21, 2009 at the ripe old age of 15 after succumbing to a sudden stroke, PeoplePets.com reports.
Although best known for the signature saying “Yo quiero Taco Bell,” the captivating chihuahua also had the chance to lap up the limelight on the big screen with her role as Bruiser Woods’ mother in the 2003 comedy Legally Blonde 2: Red, White and Blonde.
Having made her mark in pop culture history, the pampered pooch lived out her days sleeping “for 23 hours and 45 minutes a day. She’ll lay outside when it’s 105 degrees! I like to joke that it’s like looking after a plant.” her trainer Sue Chipperton recently relayed to PeoplePets.
