Hilary Swank may be accustomed to the constant click of paparazzi’s cameras, but during a recent photo shoot for Iams Home 4 The Holidays Pet Adoption Drive a couple of the star’s canine companions had the opportunity to lap up the limelight. Karoo, the Corgi/Jack Russell terrier mix being hugged by his movie star Momma in the photo, was rescued by the actress on a South African road during the filming of her flick Red Dust, while Rumi– who looks ready for his close up– was adopted by the two-time Oscar winner from a Los Angeles shelter in the fall of 2008.
Having found forever homes last year for 1.2 million of the nation’s 8 million orphan pets with the help of Desperate Housewives star Felicity Huffman, in 2009 Hilary Swank has taken on the role of Ambassador of Iams Home 4 the Holidays Pet Adoption Campaign as the drive, in cooperation with the Helen Woodward Animal Center and almost 3,500 animal organizations, attempts to reach a new goal of finding homes for 1.5 million dogs and cats between October 1, 2009 and January 4, 2010.
