George “G” Perry, a member of the Rescue Ink animal rescue group and a star of the National Geographic Channel’s “Rescue Ink Unleashed” series, loves animals. Growing up in the projects of Connecticut, G frequently brought home strays as a child; today he helps rescue animals from a number of risky situations.
It’s a situation that continues to escalate. In a recent interview with DogTipper.com, G noted, “With the record number of houses being lost and being foreclosed on, every time there’s a house that’s being foreclosed on, you lose an animal. Animals are losing a home. Not only are families being put out on the street, animals are being put out on the street.”
About his work with Rescue Ink, an unconventional group of animal rescuers based on Long Island, G says, “Our job is to protect and serve. Protect the animals and serve the communities.” Much of that protection involves the members of Rescue Ink interceding in animal abuse cases. “Only the weak abuse animals,” says the animal savior. “It makes me proud to be a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves.”
When he’s a home, G enjoys hanging out with Boss, his two-year-old Olde English Bulldog.
