President Obama with Bo

There’s nothing like a little puppy love to help a person de-stress from the demands of their job, even if that person’s position is that of President. The Commander in Chief paused recently to play with his pawed pal in the Outer Oval Office.

As the hectic pace of the White House can on occasion leave little time for walking the dog, the LA Times reports that First Fido Bo often strolls with Dale Haney, who has promenaded Presidential pooches around the premises of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue since the days when Richard Nixon held office.

Bo’s genial doggie disposition is due in part to lessons learned in his first months from trainer Dawn Sylvia Stasiewicz of Merit Puppy Training. In the following clip from WJLA, Stasiewicz reminisces about Bo and another Spot formerly in the spotlight, the late Senator Ted Kennedy’s canine companion, Cappy:
