British Stars Kym Marsh and Jamie Lomas Adopt A Puppy

Thoughtlessly tossed aside like discarded toys once the initial fun of playtime has passed, many pets who were adopted during the Christmas season find themselves abandoned after the holidays. Such was the case with Oliver, a three-month-old retriever mix discovered inside a box placed by the trash bin of a pet store in Surrey, England. Although he was dealt a rocky start in life, fate was about to deal a better hand to the Fido.
Walking on to the set of This Morning, Oliver–along with a Staffordshire cross puppy called Saffy who was abandoned on Boxing Day and is waiting for a forever family– became the face of dogs who need to be rehomed on a January 5, 2010 segment of the ITV daytime show. Among the show’s viewers was actress Kym Marsh, a star of the series Coronation Street, who stated:
“I was off work and we were watching the show and I felt so sorry for all the dogs, but little Oliver walked on and looked so chilled in the studio, he just melted our hearts.”
Following a home visit by the RSPCA, Ms. Marsh and her fiance, actor Jamie Lomas, welcomed Oliver into their family on January 10, 2010.
