A long-time “green” member of the glitterati, actor Esai Morales was seen just before Earth Day at the Urth Caffe, enjoying an afternoon with his tail-wagging Weimaraner, Frankie. The self-dubbed “actorvist” has shown his support for all creatures great and small over the years through his involvement in several organizations, including E.C.O. (Earth Communication Office, of which he was a founding member) The Humane Society’s Genesis Awards (of which he is a committee member) and the Wildlife Preservation Fund in Costa Rica.
The current star of SyFy’s Caprica has lent his voice to help those who cannot speak for themselves in the documentary Hollywood Animal Crusadersand, although accustomed to signing autographs for fans, his signature– along with an array of A-listers– can also be found in a Farm Sanctuary letter penned to help end the practice of tail-docking cows.
