Stand up comedian Justin Silver is a stand up guy in the eyes of dog lovers. Inspired by his two rescue pets– Pit Bulls Chiquita and Pacino– in 2005 the funnyman founded a jest fest to help homeless animals in New York City.
The past efforts of such high-profile humorists as 30 Rock‘s Judah Friedlander, The View‘s Joy Behar and Dave Attell proves that laughter truly is the best medicine, as funds from the shows have helped to provide area shelters with veterinary care as well as food, training and a temporary home for dogs and cats as they wait for their forever families.
On May 24, 2010 a cavalcade of comedians will toss quips for the sake of canines during the 4th annual Funny for Fido event. Held at Caroline’s, America’s premier comedy club in Times Square, this year’s ticket holders will enjoy rib-tickling routines from Colin Quinn of Saturday Night Live fame, Last Comic Standing finalist Amy Schumer, Tourgasm’s Robert Kelly and more.
