Celebrities from all walks of the entertainment world are using their star power in the effort to give dogs a new lease on life. Shining a spotlight on the cruelty of chaining, penning and isolating man’s best friend, stars have signed their signatures on photos of their famous faces and on their canine companions’ collars for Celebrity Collars for Dollars to benefit Dogs Deserve Better, a nonprofit which aims to break the cycle of chaining dogs.
Beginning June 22, 2010, fans can bid on framed photographs of their favorite movie, TV and sports stars. Many frames contain not only the photo, but also a collar previously worn by their beloved barking buddy, which now bears the celebrity’s John Hancock and the name of the dog that donned the collar. Bids will be accepted through July 2, 2010.
