Sandra Bernhard To Host DogCatemy Celebrity Gala

Stand-up comedienne Sandra Bernhard will stand up for our furry friends who need forever families as host of the North Shore Animal League America’s 2010 DogCatemy Celebrity Gala. Held by the world’s largest no-kill rescue and adoption organization in celebration of the bond between pets and their human parents and as a tribute to the people who help to save the lives of shelter animals, the event will mark its fifth year at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City on November 4, 2010.

“I am excited to take part in this fun evening that celebrates the important work done by North Shore Animal League America,” said Sandra Bernhard. “We adopted our dog George from the Animal League last year, and he has brought such incredible joy to our family. I can’t imagine why anyone would buy a pet when there are so many amazing ones in need of loving homes found at shelters.”

Although celebrities may be accustomed to stepping in front of the camera, luminaries worked behind the lens and let their pets take center stage in videos created for a homage to Hollywood awards shows, which will take place during the Fido-friendly festivities.
