Rescue Ink, Pit Boss To Lead Pit Bull Parade

Austin has been deemed one of the most dog-friendly cities in the country, and this November Central Texas citizens will show their passion for pitties at Love-A-Bull’s Pit Bull Awareness Weekend!

The Fido love fest kicks off with a V.I.P. party November 6, 2010 at Austin Speed Shop with special guests, members of Rescue Ink. Benefiting Love-A-Bull, ticket holders will enjoy quality time with the tattooed team from the National Geographic Channel series, along with free food from South Austin Bar and Grill and ZuZu Homemade Mexican Food, an open bar, and sounds spun by DJ Ariel.

On November 7, 2010, promenade with your Pittie (or any dog on a leash) up Congress Avenue to Republic Square Park during the Parade of 100 Pit Bulls (and Friends). The parade’s Grand Marshals will be Rescue Ink and Pit Boss, with all the canine camaraderie will be captured by Animal Planet’s cameras. Add to the fun by putting Fido in an outfit– both dog and human costumes are encouraged, and prizes will be awarded for best costumes!

From 1 pm – 5 pm, enjoy an afternoon devoted to all things dog at Fun Fest in Republic Square Park. Browse among booths brimming with items for pets and people, bid in a silent auction, tap your feet to the beat of live music, find a new friend at an animal rescue group booth, watch training videos, and attend a Q&A with Rescue Ink, who will also speak about their mission to help abused animals.

Where: V.I.P. party to take place November 6, 2010 from 7 – 11 pm at Austin Speed Shop, 1414 South Lamar in Austin, TX.

The Parade of 100 Pit Bulls (and Friends) on November 7, 2010 will begin at 11:30 am at the Congress Avenue Bridge and will lead to Republic Square Park, 422 Guadalupe Street in Austin.
