Tinsley Mortimer Hosts Benefit for Second Chance Fund

Trends may come and go, but compassion is always in fashion, and for more than two weeks in October savvy shoppers can purchase items from the Samantha Thavasa boutique and help pets in the process.
The money raising effort for the American Humane Association’s Second Chance Fund® will begin with a benefit hosted by New York notable/reality TV star/handbag designer Tinsley Mortimer at Samantha Thavasa’s sole US retail location at 965 Madison Avenue. Although the gathering will include guests from the American Humane Society and the Bideawee shelter of New york City and Long Island, the event’s real VIPs will be the very important pups up for adoption.
Celebrating Adopt-A-Dog Month®, the October 13th soiree will mark the start of the Samantha Thavasa boutique’s fundraiser. Through October 31, 2010, 10 percent of sales at the Madison Avenue store– including purchases made via telephone and email– will go to the Second Chance Fund, which helps local shelters and rescue groups across the country care for abused and neglected animals and put them on the path toward finding forever families who will give them the love they deserve.
“It is my honor to raise awareness and money for the thousands of animals abused each year in this country who need a second chance at life,” said Mortimer, the star of The CW series High Society whose handbag line is carried by Samantha Thavasa stores in New York and Japan. “Every animal has the right to live a happy and healthy life.
