Celebrities and Their Pets Pose for 2011 ARF Calendar

Every day of the year will be a little brighter for orphaned animals, thanks to a calendar that combines the public’s love of Fidos and felines with an interest in famous faces.
The 2011 Celebrity Pet Calendar from Tony La Russa’s Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) features 12 A-listers who were asked by the sports icon to participate in a labor of love that ptoves that our furry friends have a starring role in all of our lives:
- Joe Mantegna‘s Siamese Juliet lapped up the limelight as she posed with her famous pet parent as January’s calendar cat.
- Lisa Ling, who once used her investigative skills to shine a spotlight on the plight of puppy mills on Oprah, smiled for the camera with a four-legged friend named Mia.
- Basketball star Stephen Curry cuddled his lovable Yorkiepoo Lei for their March appearance on the calendar.
- The sight of Dancing with the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba‘s cat Shadow will put a spring in your step when April arrives. The photogenic 19-year-old feline shares a home with four furry friends– cats Taz, Squeaker, Zeus and Mia.
- Actor Sean Patrick Flannery once confided to OfficiallyPluggedIn.com “I seriously won the doggy lottery with Donut.” The 10-year-old rescue Rover, who is a mix of Ridgeback, Mastiff, Boxer and Pit Bull, is a star in her own right, having made appearances in several of her proud Poppa’s movies.
- Twilight star Christian Serratos helped in the ongoing efforts to bring better tomorrows to our barking buddies by posing with her precious miniature Poodle, Gigi.
- NASCAR fans will want to race through the first six months of 2011 to get to the July photo of speed demon Ryan Newman and his furry friend Fred, who is one of six dogs in his “Pup Crew”. The race car driver is a dog devotee with his own foundation which educates people about the option of adoption and the need to spay and neuter pets.
- Divorce Court‘s Lynn Toler may preside over cases involving parting partners, but this judge has found a forever friend in Kayo, the Siamese who looks pawsitively purr-fect in the calendar’s August photo.
- Sugar Ray Leonard‘s miniature Schnauzer is a real knock out! One of the boxing great’s many canine companions, Kit is the September calendar canine.
- Hillary Scott from the Grammy Award-winning country group Lady Antebellum gives animal lovers something to sing by posing with her pup Murphy.
- New York Yankees’ Nick Swisher participation in the charity calendar hit a home run with fans of sports and Spots alike. The outfielder shares the November spotlight with two tiny tail-waggers, DiMaggio and Steinbrenner.
- Say so long to 2011 with Academy Award winner/co-founder of FetchDog.com Glenn Close and her canine companions, Cairn Terrier/West Highland White Terriers Bill and Jake.
