Save Money — And Help Send a Guatemalan Child to School for a Year!

Easter is fast approaching – so we wanted to let you know that we’ll be sending out any special Easter purchases via Priority Mail to US addresses for no extra charge! All you need to do is leave us a note on the purchase page that the item is a gift, and we’ll make sure it arrives on time.

We’ve got some great products for young pet lovers handmade in Guatemala by members of the UPAVIM cooperative. This cooperative of women artisans is located in the community of La Esperanza, a place challenged by both a high murder rate and extreme poverty. The cooperative, though, provides jobs for over 100 women. They’ve built a pharmacy as well as a Montessori school for the children of the artists.

We’re working to fund the education of one child of an UPAVIM artist so $1 of every purchase in the Young Pet Lovers Collection will go to help pay for the education of a child for a YEAR. We’re almost there and hope to be able to fund this by Easter! As we all know, only when the educational level of a community rises — and people can take care of their own needs — will the care for the pets of the community improve as well.

Please take a moment to check out the Young Pet Lovers Collection which includes everything from pet-themed finger puppets to kitty purses (both which also include a free copy of The Dog and Cat Rescue Coloring Book!) We will keep you posted on our progress as we work to fund the year of a child’s education!
