My Guess as to My Dog’s Breeds: American Eskimo/Pekingese

How My Dog Came Into My Life: I was living in Baton Rouge attending LSU Law School in July 2002. I saw an ad for “Snowball Pekingese Pups” for $25 a piece. There were males and females. I called the lady to find out and she had a female available. I drove to Zachary, Louisiana and could barely find the Cajun woman’s house who had her. When I arrived, I was shocked because she did not look like a Pekingese. I wasn’t sure she was what I wanted.

Well, it only took seconds to hold this only 3 week old puppy to know she was mine. I named her Queen Marie Antoinette, Nettie for short, after the person I wrote my thesis about when I received my Master’s. Nettie had fleas and all types of worms and it cost all my money to take her to the vet! It was so worth it. I taught Nettie how to walk (she was too little at first, so I carried her in my purse everywhere), how to run, how to play, and how to love. She and I are inseparable to this day. She is my best friend.

I am not sure what Nettie is, but I think I will never find a breed like her again. She is truly adorable. The one picture I sent does not do her justice. She loves me 100% and will go wherever her “mommy” goes.

We would love to win your contest to discover her true breed. But if we don’t, I know Nettie saved my life. I was so lonely when I moved to Baton Rouge. It was my first time away from home. I know I would never have finished those three tough years at law school without her. She is the one who comes to me when I have had a bad day at work as an attorney. I am a lucky girl to have Nettie!
