Today, we feature a very special Dog of the Day, Wyley, who introduces us to the Home for Life® facility in Wisconsin.
Dog’s Name: Wyley
Age of Our Dog: 10
Breed: German Wirehaired Pointer
What We Love About My Dog: Wyley has resided at the Home for Life® facility in Wisconsin since his previous owner became unable to care for him.
Wyley has become a valuable leader in the Home for Life® community, and is often the first to offer friendship to the new arrivals, helping them adapt to their new life.
Home for Life® was established in 2005 to be a new kind of shelter: a long-term animal sanctuary for cats and dogs with special needs. A loving staff and specialized infrastructure makes Home for Life® more than an alternative to euthanasia; it’s the prototype for a new philosophy of special-needs animal care, with plans to expand into other areas of the U.S.
