Has your dog been Dog of the Day on DogTipper? We’ve got a new button you can use on your blog or social site to link to your dog’s page! You’ll find the button and the code in the lower right sidebar (look for “Grab Our Badges”). If you use the code as it is, you’ll link to the main Dog of the Day page and readers can scroll through to find your dog’s individual page.
Or you can add the URL of your dog’s page and you’ll be linking straight to your dog’s individual page! To do this:
- Copy the code for the badge. The code is in the right sidebar near the bottom of every page under “Grab Our Badges.” You’ll want the code beneath the “My Dog Is Dog of the Day” badge. You don’t have to copy the image; it will be served from our server.
- Find the URL of your dog’s page. You can use the search function on the right sidebar; just search for your dog’s name. (If your dog was Dog of the Day over a year ago and you can’t find the page, please resubmit. We lost about a dozen entries when the site was converted to WordPress.) The URL of your dog’s individual page will end in “html”.
- Copy the entire URL of your dog’s individual page.
- In the badge code, find the basic Dog of the Day URL you’re wanting to replace (it’s in blue below):
and replace that URL with the URL of your dog’s page:
That’s it! You can now paste the code in your blog or social media page. Remember to use the code that’s in the right sidebar (the above code is just a graphic). If you have any difficulty adding the badge to your site, just drop us a note at firstname.lastname@example.org (or via the Contact page above) and we’ll help!
