Adoptable Dog of the Day: Alysia in New Mexico

Tiny Alysia didn’t have an easy time coming into this world. Her mother, a four-pound Chihuahua, was found as a stray and released to a rescue because it was just about time for her to give birth. Plans called for the pups to be born by Cesarean delivery but Mother Nature had other ideas and, before the vet could arrive, Alysia made her entrance into the world. Her sibling did not live but Alysia, despite her difficult birth, is doing very well and today enjoys playing with her mother and her foster siblings.

Recently it was discovered that Alysia has very limited vision. Her caretakes say, “She is a ‘hoppy’ little girl and doesn’t know in the least that she is ‘limited’ by her eyesight, nor by her size. She will run and jump for your lap (missing by quite a bit) but doesn’t give up…ever….just keeps it up until you pick her up cause she deserves it after such a valiant attempt. She is absolutely a little love bug and her favorite place to sleep is on your chest with her face buried in your neck.”

Alysia is all ready for her forever home! She loves other dogs but needs a home without small children.
