Adoptable Dog’s Name: Brownie
Location of Adoptable Pet: Washington, DC
Age of Adoptable Dog: 1 year
Breed: Pit Bull Terrier
What Makes This Dog Special: Brownie is a super handsome, 1 year old Pit Bull mix. Brownie is incredibly sweet and very mild mannered. This playful pup LOVES stuffed toys, but don’t think he’s going to make a huge mess by ripping them apart, he just likes to carry them around! He also loves tennis balls, and likes to bat them across the floor with his paws or play fetch! But Brownie’s favorite activity is to cuddle. He’ll lay at your feet or snuggle on the couch, and purrs if you scratch him just right behind the ears. Brownie is a rare specimen in the dog world, a big dog that likes to be held! Don’t believe us? Check out Brownie’s photos on his Lucky Dog Rescue page, there’s one of his foster mom holding him at one of our adoption events! Brownie maintains his sweet and sunny personality, even though he’s probably seen the meaner side of the human. We’re not sure how he’s managed to stay so sweet but we’re very proud of him!
What Kind of Household Would be Best for this Dog?: Brownie is good with children, dogs (including other males and small dogs) and even cats! So he would do great in a home with other animals! Because Brownie is so people motivated (he wants to make his people happy) he would do great in doggie school! He is responding well to training in his foster home and is very playful.
About the Rescue or Shelter with this dog: Lucky Dog Animal Rescue is an all-volunteer, non-profit animal rescue organization dedicated to saving the lives of homeless animals and educating the community on responsible pet ownership. Lucky Dog does not have its own facility. Instead, our dogs stay with temporary fosters (and occasionally boarding partners) while they wait to find their forever home. We hold adoption events each week where you can see the Lucky Dogs strut their stuff, and we also arrange private meetings for adopters who fall in love with a pup’s Internet photo. Our volunteers are more than just volunteers, and our dogs are more than just dogs. We are a family. And we welcome you to become a part!
