Adoptable Dog of the Day: Ruby in Illinois

RubyChicagoYou wouldn’t know it from her photo, but Ruby, a Yorkshire Terrier/Poodle mix (Yorkipoo) was rescued from a neglect situation and had not been cared for properly. Now, thanks to some foster-care TLC under the supervision of Friends of Chicago Animal Care & Control in Chicago, IL, she is a beautiful, adorable dog. Ruby loves going for walks and snuggling with her humans and playing with her buddies (both dogs and cats). Ruby is smart and has received some training. The folks at the shelter say she enjoys “dancing for treats.”

Ruby is listed as a special needs dog as she previously suffered some minor seizures. This condition has been controled with daily medication and she will need to continue this when she finds her forever home. This issue doesn’t slow her down and should not prevent her from having a full, healthy life.

Ruby is about six years old and weighs 14 pounds. She is spayed and is up to date on her shots. This sweetie will make a wonderful companion!
