Holiday Gift Guide: PetHub

All dog lovers worry that, at some time, their dog will get separated from them. Whether by running away or getting separated in a crowd, lost dogs are a very real and sad fact of life.

Now there’s a great device for ensuring your dog’s information is always on him. PetHub™ Link tags allow you to select just what’s displayed when your pet’s collar is scanned with a smartphone. If he’s lost, the person who finds your dog just scans the QR tag on the PetHub tag with their iPhone, Android, Blackberry or other smart phone, and your dog’s information will come up! You can modify it when you’re traveling, add your pet’s medical information, and more.

PetHub sells two different products. The PetHub Link ScruffTag collar sells for $29.95 (plus shipping and handling) and includes the collar and the laser-etched tag. Collars are available in sizes from 9/16″ x 12″ up to 1″ x 24″ (add $4 for the large size). The collars are available in black, blue, green, orange, pink, purple, red:

…or you can opt for just the tag. The PetHub Laser-etched Link tag sells for $12.95 (plus shipping and handling) and is available in small, medium and large sizes.

With either option, there’s no charge for activating the tag and no annual fees. You’ll just go online and modify your dog’s profile and your information as needed.

Best of all: if your dog should be lost, you’ll receive an email whenever anyone scans the tag!
