Even though our two dogs are as mixed as mixed breed dogs could be and we wouldn’t have it any other way, we still love to watch dog shows on TV. Every time we watch the shows, we learn something new about the wide spectrum of breeds that make up the dog world.
If you’ll be watching a dog show with a child, we’ve discovered a book that would be great to read with a child before the show. The fictional Best in Show
Written by Karen LeFrak, a breeder of champion poodles (including a Westminster Non-Sporting Group winner), this book for preschool through second graders would help inspire all young dog lovers to help in the care of their dog, whether they are interested in becoming a junior handler or not. Dog lover Martha Stewart said of this book, “Not only is the book fun, it is highly informative and instructive. It is great for any dog fancier.”
