**This giveaway is closed. Congratulations to Carla L, the winner of the Walk In Sync out of 1158 entries!**

In recognition of National Train Your Dog Month, we’ve got a very special giveaway to announce: one lucky DogTipper reader will win a Walk In Sync Humane Dog Walking and Training System. Invented by Alecia Evans, our Ask Alecia columnist, this system is comprised of an innovative harness as well as access to online training videos. You can see the Walk In Sync in action in the video above.

Here’s more about the Walk In Sync from veterinarian Dr. Allen M. Schoen:

Alecia Evans creation of the Walk In Sync™ harness technology is not just evolutionary, but revolutionary. It is way past due to have a safer harness technology that does not have the potential to injure a dog’s neck and create musculoskeletal harm. That technology is now available thanks to the creative genius of Alecia Evans.

As a pioneer in Integrative Animal Health Care for 30 years, editor of the three veterinary textbooks Complementary and Alternative Veterinary Medicine and Veterinary Acupuncture, two books on the human animal bond, I have always felt that there need to be more humane approaches to training as well as collars and harnesses. After reviewing Alecia’s creation, I am most appreciative and realize that her invention is it.

I have many of my own idea’s on innovative creations to help animals, but I have never seen anything like the Walk In Sync™.  – Allen M. Schoen, DVM, MS, Ph.D.(hon.)

One lucky DogTipper reader will have the chance to win the Walk In Sync system for their dog!

  • Avrora Davidovna

I would like her to spend less time jumping on new friends that she meets.  She tends to think that every person we pass on the street is a new bff in the making.

  • Sharon Gilbert

I would like to have Schooner walk instead of pulling the whole time on our walk.  It seems like I always have him on a very short leash so we doesn’t pull so hard but by the time I get home my arm aches.

  • TK

I would have my puppy stop jumping on my legs when I leave.

  • lenny

Interesting. My dogs are good except when people or other dogs approach

  • http://www.CritterMinute.com/ Kelley

Would love to give the Walk In Sync a try.

  • Guest

I could use that for either of my girls!  They both pull and just about chock themselves when walking! Thank you for having this giveaway!!!

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Katie-Mitchell/1789458001 Katie Mitchell

Roxy and Molly both pull a lot and choke themselves, but they pull even more with the harness they have, they also have a tendencey to escape their collars. so this would be a good thing to try with them

Bella has a lot of good qualities but on the leash, she can be a bit hard to handle.  She pulls a lot which makes it hard for be to control her.  I would love to learn any kind of training though that would help!

  • http://twitter.com/katbirdfl Kathryn Costa

Well, my dog is a puppy, she is only 10 weeks old so we are working on all of the basics now. This would be an awesome help!  Thanks for the chance!

  • Alexis

Ariel still pulls and tries to shove herself out the front door when it’s walk time. Of course, I don’t let her go first and I shorten her leash so she stays next to me. I would like an easier way of enforcing it without worrying I’ll choke her.

  • Dawn-Murphy’s mommy

Murphy also pulls a lot on his leash and still tries to greet people by kissing them.  Would LOVE To try this!!!!

Our Great Dane, a little dog trapped in a big dog’s body, could improve on his meeting people. He loves people and wants everyone to notice him, so he jumps and barks and with his size, it scares a lot of people.

  • Mary Witter

One year old Casey R. Doodle weighs nearly as much as me, so his exuberant pulling on our walks in the crowded city is a serious issue.  Everyone we pass is like his best long lost friend.  This is the behavior I’d like most to improve!

  • Jennifer Crissey

My little Havanese does not listen to anything I say and has horrible leash manners.  He strains on the leash and pulls me down the street.  I would love to try this system to get him to walk properly!

  • Ahalaia

What I’d like to improve about my dogs, mainly the female does this, when she gets excited she jumps up on me…but it tends to be a slow motion jump (guess she is warning you lol). She use to jump a lot but I’ve broken her of that habit, still can’t get rid of it completely. She loves to hug, and I think she is trying to do that with the slow motion jump.

  • Meghan Riegler

I would like to improve how out of control my dog’s get when seeing other dog’s walk by or come closer. Not aggressive, but my arm is attached!

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1366242434 Lori Ames Birdsong

I would love to improve the largest of my 8 dogs walking behavior. She is Blue heeler, and Australian Shepard mix and strong as an OX. My 70 Year old mother wants her for protection and she too walks her dogs, but Pepper pulls soooo much, it’s not safe for her to walk her.

  • Zachsmom1110

My Oden Zinger is a puller. I would love to use this on him. Thank you for this great giveaway.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001287781432 Cassandra Godwin

Would love this for an 80lb Mastiff Boxer mix since he can be a beast on leash.

  • Carolyn

Pick us! Ralphie is a 65 lb. Staffordshire Bull Terrier who loves to be walked by our 4-year-old daughter…or is it the other way around?

  • Javajano

I would love to give this a try on my 100+ lb  12 mo old GSD… She’s super poowerful and pulls like a mule team!

  • Catie Russo

Dexter is a puller.  We use a Gentle Leader for walks which helps, but I’d love to not have to use it!

  • Tspaid54

I have big strong dogs so to get them to calm down and walk in sync with me would be what I love to train them to do

  • Tara

My dog is very anxious in new settings.

  • Lori Miller

I’m working to desensitize my terrier to loud noises.

I would love to win this!

  • Christine A.

There are a few things I would like to improve about my dog’s behavior, but the tops ones have to be her barking and her climbing over the fence/running away.

  • http://twitter.com/diamondslady812 cynthia

    thanks for the giveaway

  • http://twitter.com/diamondslady812 cynthia

the pulling on the leash as i am trying to walk them is what i want to improve

  • Beadscapes

  • Joyfulheart26

    definitely his heeling capabilities!

  • Morticia111

I would love for my dog to stay beside me and not a mile ahead :-)

  • Christine Aiello

Her habit of stealing anything she can find in order to get a treat so she will give up what she stole.

  • Karla Gutierrez-Pugh

this would be PERFECT for our dog!

I’d like to improve his recall and his leash walking (pulling)

  • Julie Berg

I would like to control his barking – even when someone knocks on the door to my room!  I haven’t figured out how to stop this – we’ve tried the shake can, rewarding him for silence once he STOPS barking, etc. and nothing has worked so far… (Second is the leash pulling, lol!)

As a dog trainer, most of my clients have the dog pulling issue. I’d love to find a humane device such as yours to help them feel what it’s like to have their dog walk without dragging them along!

I would like her to heel better, and not get so excited when we constantly see deer on our walks. Of course, the deer let us get within 5 feet of us, so that doesn’t help.

  • ELYSESW

I’d like to stop the barking at strangers.  UGH!

  • JoeJames

I would most like to improve my dog’s behavior of pulling while walking and jumping on guests when they first arrive.

  • Misty

She barks at other dogs while we are driving.

  • Sandy weinstein

since i have 3 little girls, they all have their little problems, the oldest talks back to me and gets very nasty sometimes, the middle child cant get that she needs to potty outside, and that every time i open the refrigerator it is not to get food for her, the baby also has a potty inside problem (they do not seem to understand that they need to tell mommy when they have to go and when they are outside that is when they need to go potty, not when i bring them back inside….i have worked and worked on this, tried the doorbells, take them out after every meal, playtime, etc. they also bark and claw at the door (which my door shows the damage) when someone comes to the door (i have tried the squirting of water, but that does not seem to deter them, especially when it is me on the other side of the door)….the baby tears up things when i am gone….she started this a few weeks ago…so i have taken to crating her when i leave the house most of the time…i wish they would all listen to me better, they do great when they are not at home and at an event, but get them home and they change, people always tell me how well behaved my children are….i tell them only away from home.

  • amber C

I want to be able to walk my huge mastiff without her barking at other dogs passing by.

  • Nancy

She’s very destructive, fortunately it’s just her toys.

  • Rick

I’d like them to point instead of flush.

  • Danielle

I’d like Sissy to stop chasing the cat.

  • Teresa

I would love to be able to walk my dog without him pulling me everywhere – and enjoy our walk together. I have tried so many techniques and nothing seems to work. I adopted my dog when he was 7+ and it’s been hard to break many bad habits.

  • cstironkat

Both of my dogs gulp their food way to fast and it makes me nervous because of the possibility of bloat.

  • Diane G.

For the Rafflecopter entry on what I would like to change about my dog: My “doghter” will be 11 in March and thanks to our older Beagle we had when she was a pup, she gets into the trash. I would love to be able to leave the house and not have to put the trashcan up on the table. I know that isn’t a leash/pulling behavior, but she doesn’t have any of those. :)
