Win a Kumfy Tailz Warming & Cooling Harness!

We had so much fun with Super Dog Sunday™ this past weekend that we’re excited to announce that one company is throwing a “post game party”! Kumfy Tailz has donated $23,000 worth of their warming and cooling harness products to shelters and rescues across the country this past year…and now they’re going to continue that spirit with giveaways on DogTipper, All Things Dog Blog, and some of your other favorite dog blogs across the Web!

One lucky winner from DogTipper and All Things Dog Blog will win TWO Kumfy Tailz: one for their dog and one to donate to the Petfinder shelter or rescue of their choice!

Shelters have been putting these harnesses to good use, using them to immediately treat dogs coming in with hypo and hyperthermia, to provide comfort to scared animals or those in shock, for post-op to reduce swelling and cover stitches so dog can’t get at them, and even to send home with patients/adoptive parents for ongoing care.

Around your home, your dog can enjoy a warmer walk in the winter or a cooler stroll in the summer thanks to the gel pack that slips inside the harness. Kumfy Tailz is the first thermal harness and coat designed to use proven gel pack technology.  Each product includes a Kumfy Pax gel pack, which can be heated and frozen

The original Kumfy Tailz were made of neoprene. In response to market interest, the newest Kumfy Tailz are now made of a soft, breathable mesh that includes a lining which helps with maintaining the temperature of the Kumfy Pax pouch. Kumfy Tailz and Kumfy Pax were developed in close consultation with Kumfy Tailz’ licensed veterinarian adviser, Jennifer Henderson, DVM. To learn more, follow the Kumfy Tailz Facebook page, follow on Twitter, or visit their website to see the new fabrics.

The winner will receive the neoprene version of the Kumfy Koatz. Can’t wait to see if you win? Just visit the website to to order a warming/cooling harness for your dog.

      Good luck!

It gets really hot in California where I live, and of course the dogs are not allowed anywhere there is safe water. In order to walk them I have to take them out where it can get very hot (over 115 degress) which I will not do. This product could help make it so if I get out early in the morning and have the harness on they could still get their daily exercise safely.

    • Kumfy Tailz

      Definitely!

  • A.M.

    Yay, I need one

  • Mallory H.

I like the idea that it can be used for both heating and cooling – Man, we sure could use it now with the cold weather!!

Is anyone having trouble with the pre-set tweets? They seem too long…won’t let me enter them (I had to delete some words to make it fit)

Thanks, Mallory; we got those tweets rewritten!!

  • Jason Diehl

my shepherd would love this during the summer to keep him cool

  • Sharon Gilbert

I love how it keeps the dogs cool and warm. Great invention for the dogs

  • April

such a cool idea. would come in great for flyball (the cooling effect) and the warming effect would be great for those cold new england walks!

  • Laura Weil

Great contest and I love the double donation!

  • lennyg

That it’s good for all sorts of temps

    • Kumfy Tailz

Definitely! You can use the harness year-round with or with out the gel bag! It’s a super high-quality harness.

  • Trish Brumfield

Kumfy Koatz are environmentally friendly and help to cool or heat dogs due to the placement of the gel packs on the dogs’ core, which is where most of the dog’s vasculature and major organs are.
This would be so awesome for my rescued Bulldogs and the dogs at the shelter that I would have a Kumfy Koatz donated to! Thank you!

  • http://www.facebook.com/lmakrinikolas Lisa Makrinikolas

I didn’t realize that most of the heat is lost through the core…I’ve always been careful to cover my dog’s chest/bellies but was probably too worried about covering their back as well (when it came to fit).

    • Kumfy Tailz

Have you ever seen a dog spread itself on the floor on a hot day? He’s putting his core on the cold floor to cool off!

  • jules mcnubbin

you can cool or heat the gel packs, that would be so nice for my bulldog, he gets so hot in the summer

    • Kumfy Tailz

Certain dog breeds are more prone to overheating. Brachycephalic dog breeds (e.g. Pugs, English and French bulldogs, Boston terriers, Pekingese, boxers, Shih tzus) have short wide heads, and squished noses, which complicates the
      natural cooling process.

This looks awesome. I’m so glad this product was mentioned!

  • AnnaZed

I noticed that the reusable gel pack insert is nontoxic; in case the dog gets hold of it and tears it apart. This sees like a great idea.

Just a note to connect my comment to the Rafflecopter: The Rafflecopter calls me ‘Margot’ since it is accessing my facebook where I am ‘Margot Core'; the Rafflecopter connects to this email: annazed10 [at] yahoo [dot] com

    • Kumfy Tailz

It is non toxic, but like anything it’s best to replace it right away.

  • http://www.facebook.com/cheryl.smith.7165 Cheryl Smith

the coats incorporate gel pac technology

  • http://www.facebook.com/PoochParkWear Shelly PoochparkWear

Would love a harness that would keep Layla warm especially at nights when we go for long walks as she is not happy with coats BOL

  • http://www.facebook.com/brenna.mack.1 Brenna Mack

Well, I’m not clear on exactly how it warms and cools, but I do like the design and how it fits. I have one that runs off a lot (including after getting out of her harness), so I would love to try anything new. It panics me. I would be a wreck if something happened to one of my girls.

    • Kumfy Tailz

There is a great infographic on our site http://www.KumfyTailz.com that shows you how it works. One gel bag is both microwavable and freezable. Pull it out and put it in the pouch of coat or harness. The pouch covers the dog’s core where the main organs are and helps better regulate body temperature.

  • Katie Amanda

The team uses their products ourselves, every day, on our dogs.

    • Kumfy Tailz

      Cool!

  • Alexis E.

I love the entire product and the idea behind it!

    • Kumfy Tailz

      Thanks!!

  • http://twitter.com/bunnyhugger75 Amy Miller

Wow, this sounds great and it would help with anxiety. My oldest of my 4 furkids, Ella, has anxiety issues around new humans.

    • Kumfy Tailz

One of our customers just told us she puts it on her dog before getting in the car, which typically makes her dog nervous. She said it really helps. So now there are two of you who’ve given us another use! Thanks!

  • T. Dalton

You heat or cool a gel pack that goes into the harness at the place where it can most affect the dog to help them either warm up or cool down, which is something I would love to have during the Summer because we take long walks and I don’t want Max to overheat!! :0)

  • http://www.facebook.com/christine.aiello.3 Christine Aiello

That you can make them cool or warm!!!! Perfect!!!! Great idea!!!!

I learned that Dogs with heart disease have a difficult time regulating their body temperature.

    • KumfyTailz
