Does your dog become stressed in some situations, whether that’s fireworks, thunderstorms, visiting guests, a trip to the vet, or a car ride? If so, be sure to enter our giveaway for a bottle of ThunderSpray, a calming spray that mimics the natural pheromones of a mother dog to help your dog feel calm and secure.

We know you’re familiar with Thundershirt, the garment that helps calm dogs (and cats) during times of stress, whether that’s from thunderstorms or a vet visit. We’ve written many times about using the Thundershirt with Irie to help with her thunderphobia.

Now the same company that brought you ThunderShirt offers ThunderSpray. Like the Thundershirt, this product is designed to help calm your dog in a natural way. Sprayed near your dog such as on the neck strap of the Thundershirt or in the area where your dog lies, ThunderSpray contains calming pheromones, Lavender and Chamomile.

He gets nervous most when he goes to the vet. Thanks for the giveaway!

  • Deanna

Car rides make my dog nervous.

  • Dawn Rasor

I have two rough collies and although they do ok with fireworks and thunder, it’s grooming time that really upsets them. We have a thundershirt we bought for one of my collies mom. It worked fabulously! She is no longer with us but we will hang on to her thundershirt for future adoptees. I think the thunderspray would work really well to mellow or calm my boys down a bit before bath time and blow drying.

  • Lisa Marie

My poor Tip dog gets so nervous when it storms and during fireworks. She doesn’t like her Thundershirt, so maybe this would be a good alternative.

  • Tara

My dog is cautious by nature, so anything and everything has the possibility of making him nervous. He doesn’t mind his Thundershirt, and wears it when we know he will be frightened, but he can’t wear it all the time.

  • Rachel T

My little Chi is most stressed by a visit to the vet or the groomer. She even gets visibly nervous upon entering some stores/shops even when we have never had any grooming done there. We can only enjoy a visit to certain pet friendly shops, because places that also do grooming in the back scare her. I guess she can smell it as soon as we walk in the door.

Going to the vet stresses my dog out.

  • Helga

My dogs hate storms and fireworks.

  • Carol

Actually its strong winds. One day a gust of wind closed the deck door when he was sitting by it – now he is petrified when the wind kicks up!

  • Ashley Feit

Fireworks are a HUGE stress for my dogs. It seems that people set off fireworks for the weeks before and after Independence Day, so it’s rough on our dogs. We currently use Thundershirts for fireworks. Really bad storms stress my one dog out, especially if there is a tornado warning, but that’s because he doesn’t like the basement.

My “doghter” will be 13 next month. For some reason, she has started to *hate* trips in the truck. She used to love it, but now it stresses her out to no end.

  • Linda Szymoniak

I have five Treeing Walker Coonhounds, and a couple of them get highly stressed with things like fireworks (thunder, loud noises that sound similar on TV, like gun shots). My senior girl used to get stressed from these things, but at 13 years old she has lost most of her hearing so I’m not sure if it’s because she just can’t hear them the way she used to or if she just realized over the years that the sounds won’t hurt her. My deaf hound girl, Ran, had serious separation anxiety at first and while it’s gotten better, she still has it to some degree, so this would be great for her, too.

  • Christine Aiello

Thunderstorms and Fireworks scare my little Coco. She shakes like a leaf when she hears them. She just sits up and shakes until its over. She won’t lay down.

    Gunshots and thunder

  • Marti Tabora

My dog is terribly afraid of fireworks and for some reason people in my neighborhood love using fireworks. He also gets fearful when we go to the vet. Thank you.

  • Evelyn Chuter

My dogs are pretty fearless. I think it’s a trip to the Vets office that raises their anxiety the most.

  • Trish B.

I have four dogs that are scared of thunderstorms and fireworks. Thunderstorms cause them the most fear.

  • Shelly

Layla freaks out from the rain and any other bang so would love something like this

  • debra dubois

Hi thanks for the chance we adopted two sweet girls that are afraid of most everything we are pretty sure its due to being in kennels. We have noticed they are really afraid of thunder and lighting we are not sure about fireworks yet they have not heard them they are only 8 months old we have only had the 6 & 5 months now.. I would love to see if this would work for them.

  • SGilbert

Schooner and Skipper tremble, shake and hide when we are having a thunderstorm and fireworks. It is so awful and I feel so sorry for them.

  • Shelley Joy P

Ella gets so scared when there are thunderstorms, fireworks and when she hears a plane fly by or strong winds. We also have a new bird that comes around our house that has a high pitched whistle which terrifies Ella so when we take her out she hides under the stairs :(

  • scottsgal

my beauceron puppy gets carsick so riding in a car stresses her out

  • Cheryl Chervitz

My dogs stress over fireworks the most, or any loud bang.

  • Bonnie Gill

  • Carol

Our terrier is afraid of everything, from storm to stink bugs. I cant try the thunder shirt because he won’t wear clothes, not even a bandana. Hate medicating him, would love to try this.

  • Samantha Daleo

My dog doesn’t like thunder or any other loud noise…sharp beeps like the fire alarm or loud bangs like when you drop something…he just gets starttled easy and then runs out of the room.

  • betty

Both my dogs hate any sounds from thunder to fireworks. They will hide in anything or anywhere they will fit. thank you

Fifi gets stressed out whenever the other cats don’t want to play with her! Which, in turn, stressed out the cats even more!

  • Darlene Carbajal

Fireworks stresses out my dog the most!

  • Beth

It’s a toss up between fireworks and thunder. She squeezes into the smallest place she can find for either of them.

  • Lisa F.

Thunder scares my one dog and fireworks another one.

  • Joanne Gregory

    Other dogs scare my dog.

  • Marilyn Nawara

Thunderstorms are the worst…. paces and barks the entire time.

  • Kathleen Manthey

Somebody banging on the front door sends my dog into a flurry! Why they choose to do that when we have BOTH a doorbell and a door-knocker is a mystery to me, but the delivery guys BANG loudly! He also doesn’t like the fireworks and someone in the neighborhood sets them off for EVERY holiday and like crazy on New Years and the 4th of July!

  • debra dubois

We have two sweet girls that are 8 months old we adopted them 6 months ago they are afraid of most everything. We would love to try this during storms and fireworks so they are not so shook up its really sad to see the fear in there eyes.. PLEASE PICK OUR GIRLS!!!

  • Jennifer P

Definitely a vet visit. She goes so infrequently. To be honest, knock on wood, she’s been so healthy that she’s only had to go a few times in her almost 12 years.

  • Wen Budro

The vet visits are number 1 but she also hates hairbrushes.

  • Edna Myers

Being left at home alone gets him every time

  • Heather

Being home without mom and dad

  • Shelly

  • gkran

  • Sarah Walker

My dog gets stressed the most when we go on long road trips.

  • Jdace

Our older dog, Fanny, is afraid of thunderstorms the most. We try to get her in the livingroom and turn the tv up. We practice tricks to try to get her mind off the storm.

  • LyricInTime2803

Shiloh doesn’t get stressed by much, but does get overexcited- especially at large agility trials with lots of other dogs running around. I’ve found that calming sprays help him keep his head at those times.

  • dh_jax

I have eight dogs, including three rescues but thr one I’m trying to win this for is one of my shelties….she is very afraid of thunder and wants me to hold her close when it storms. She has a thunder shirt already and it helps her a lot. I’d love to try the spray for her to. Thanks for the chance to win
