Win a PetFusion Raised Feeder & Silicone Mat!

petfusion As our regular readers know, we talk a lot about saving money on pet care on both DogTipper and CatTipper. Along with saving money on the actual purchase of pet supplies, one of the best ways to save to select products that last. Because of this, we’re happy to bring you a new giveaway from PetFusion, a company that produces some of our favorite long-last pet supplies. (The PetFusion Cat Scratcher Lounge has been in *constant* use in our home for 15 months now with no end in sight!)

siliconePetFusion now has a new silicone pet food mat, available in two sizes and two colors, blue and gray. The mat is made from premium silicone, a flexible material that makes it easy to use to catch food and water your dog leaves behind. It’s easy to pick up and wash in the sink (it bends easily). The mat, which has a sleek, modern design, has anti-slip bumps on both sides to keep bowls from slipping and the mat itself from sliding. There’s even a raised outer lip to keep spilled water from pouring onto the floor. (We’re going to be using our mat beneath our pet fountain, both to help dampen the sound and to collect the drips that inevitably wind up surrounding the fountain.)

The winner of this giveaway will also win one of PetFusion’s stylish Elevated Feeders. Made from natural wood material designed to repel water, the feeder has anti-slip feet to keep it in place. (Do your dogs also nudge their bowls as they eat?) The bowls themselves are also held in place with stabilizers so they’re not spinning and shifting during mealtime. The feeder is available in short and tall models and comes fully assembled.

Some of my dog’s leave a good size mess of water around their water bowls. Sometimes I have to be careful about slipping, depending on the shoes I’m wearing.

  • SGilbert

Around the water bowl. Schooner and Skipper leave puddles of water on the floor from the water dripping from their mouths.

  • KARENALBERTWINSLOW

    Food bowl

  • Linda Szymoniak

While my dogs can get messy with their food, my Kyoko loves cleaning up any kibble that ends up on the floor, so I really don’t have a problem with their food. The WATER, on the other hand, is always an issue. I have five Treeing Walker Coonhounds, and while a coupleof them are very neat drinkers, my Kenji, especially, gets water all over the place. It’s gotten to the point where I keep water dishes just outside the back door, which is where they go outside. It’s helped keep the water messes in the house down, but they do need a water supply available without having me let them out. I’m always mopping up after them – especially Kenji.

  • Linda Meyers-Gabbard

In our house it is the area around the food bowls that gets the messest.

  • Kaylee Kuroski

The most messy area would be around our dog bowls or the dog cages.

  • Theresa Spaid

Gotta be the food bowls. They sometimes pick at their food and the pieces they don’t like go on the floor.

  • Jdace

The area around our water bowl is definately the messiest. I guess it does not help the our aussie likes to play in the water. :)

  • Dogmama

It’s usually the water area since he doesn’t finish drinking before he lifts his head and looks around, sloshing his mouthful of water everywhere! But he also picks up mouthfuls of kibble and drops it on the ground before eating it, so that’s a very close second.

  • Rachel T

My dog eats her food like Skittles putting pieces on the floor and eating in order. The food is ALWAYS the biggest mess!

  • Rachel T

I think most dogs are messy eaters compared to cats. And drinkers!

  • Shelly

  • Raine Dawson

The food bowl area gets messier unless they are playing and slide into the water dish-then it’s a flood :)

  • Jennifer Corrado

Around the water bowl. My dog laps up water and splashes it on the floor.

  • Charlene

Around the water bowl gets the messiest :)

  • LyricInTime2803

Depends on the dog. Wager, my new puppy, is definitely food. He carries a mouthful from his bowl to wherever he wants to lay down, and munches on it- sometimes forgetting bits. Shiloh isn’t particularly messy at all. Cheyenne before she died was both. Before her surgery it was mostly the water she was messy with, but would also sometimes bring bits of food to other rooms to enjoy later. But after she had surgery to remove part of her jaw, she was understandably very messy with both food and water.

  • Bias

I love the raised feeders/waters. My dogs are 10 now and I have used a raised feeder most of their lives. It’s really made a difference and allowed them to flexible and playful even as they advance in age.

  • Carissa Joslyn

Def the water bowl! my pitbull makes the biggest messed! she’s always in a hurry some reason so she spills it everywhere. My pom doesn’t really make a mess, he’s small and has no teeth so he eats slow.

  • Dominique

Prior to getting my youngest cat I would have said the food bowl. They leave little bits of food on the floor, so that it’s pointless that I even have a mat (since they carry it away). And I learned not to set them too close to the wall, because food would end up there too. But one of my cats is very fond of tipping the water bowl for entertainment, and since it’s the kind that refills it goes everywhere in a wave.

  • Joanne Gregory

The area around the water bowl. There is nothing left around the food bowl.

  • sherry butcher

    messier food bowl.

  • Crystal Rose

    The water bowl is messier.

  • Mary W

I have wet mouth Boxers. Water goes everywhere!!

  • Angela Cash

My pup never leaves even a crumb of kibble but she splashes in her water bowl before she drinks. I have to mop up puddles several times a day.

  • sandy weinstein

the area around my pet’s food bowl, the baby, now 3 (and in the er at the vet school, on iv’s, isolation, they dont know why she is not eating, vomiting, and having diarrhea) likes to take her kibble and food out of the bowl b4 eating it.
