Help a Detroit Pet Food Bank (and a Giveaway!)

gallery-a2We all know what a terrible situation Detroit is facing with its homeless dog population right now. Shelters are fuller than full. Many dogs (guesses range from 3,000 to over 50,000) roam the streets after being turned loose by their previous owners.

Other pet lovers work to keep their pets, relying on pet food banks. This month, we’re partnering with The DaVinci Foundation for Animals, named for their rescue dog DaVinci, to assist All about Animals Food Bank to help provide food to pet owners. Along with providing food to needy pet lovers, they also work to feed the homeless pets that live on the streets of Detroit, as seen in the photo above.

The DaVinci Foundation for Animals has worked previously to help the food bank, providing over a ton of dog food:

But they’re running dangerously close to empty shelves once again…so we’d like to ask your help.

The DaVinci Foundation for Animals has links for ways you can purchase dog food to benefit the food bank. ALL the food and donations go directly to the food bank.

And, even if you can’t donate, we’d like to ask you for help getting the word out about this month-long drive. We’re going to have a couple of great giveaways to publicize this food drive, starting with this super giveaway from DaVinci himself! By sharing the word about this food drive to your friends and followers, you can help the dogs of Detroit!
