What It Is: Dog tag that threads onto your dog’s collar

Company: Boomerang Tags

DogTipper Review: Living in the country and enjoying twice-daily walks through some pretty brushy country, we were going through dog tags like potato chips. We found a few lost tags on our walking trails but others never turned up. Almost every time, the dogs had snagged the tag in the brush (and once or twice this happened on our fence), pulled the link connecting the tag and the collar open, and that was the end of the tag.

We began to do some research and found BoomerangTags.com which produces several styles of their CollarTag™, a unique tag that threads onto the collar itself. Since we use buckle-type collars, we selected the Slide-on CollarTag™ which comes in several different widths according to collar size. The stainless steel tag was engraved with our home information and put an end to our lost tag problem. (A pleasant surprise: it also put an end to the clanging tag every time our dogs ate or drank. No more jingling tag sounds and no more food on the dog tag!)

Along with the slide-on tag we selected, the company also makes notched tags that can be used on plastic buckle collars. This style also works on dog harnesses.

We ordered our tags through the BoomerangTags.com site; there’s no shipping charge within the US and no sales tax. We’ve been very happy with our tags!

Price:
The price varies by style and width. The present price of the type of tag we ordered–the slide-on tag for a single thickness nylon collar–is $10.20 including shipping. You can also order collar/tag combinations.
