Christine herself was a dog lover whose past work had included dog rescue after Hurricane Katrina.
The book weaves the suspenseful story of the search for Cinnamon against the backdrop of the around the clock work that is life in the military, all sprinkled with the correspondence that helped track down the precious dog.
