Sneak Preview: Puppy Tweets

Paris checks out the Puppy Tweets display at the recent BlogPaws conference.

If you follow DogTipper on Twitter, you know we love Twitter and its short messages. When we heard about a new product that’s going to permit dogs to “tweet,” we had to check it out. At BlogPaws, we had the chance to get a sneak preview of this product coming out this summer: Puppy Tweets™ from Mattel.

What is it? It’s a small device (they’ll be available in pink and blue) that you attach to your dog’s collar like a dog tag. Powered by a small battery, the device will note the activity level of your dog and send out a message or “tweet” on your dog’s Twitter account. It all works by means of a USB receiver that you’ll attach to your computer (so your computer will need to be turned on for the tweets to be received via wi-fi).

And just what would your dog tweet? That depends on how busy he is.  If he’s buzzing around the house, he might tweet, “I finally caught that tail I’ve been chasing and…OOUUUCCHH!” Over 500 phrases will be available.

Puppy Tweets will work for both PC and MAC users and will be available in July. It will sell for $29.99. Watch for a review on DogTipper later this summer!
