DogTipper Review: Recently we had the opportunity to receive some review boxes of Proportions, a new “Whole Food Nutrition Program” for dogs. From the start of the review process, we could tell this was a unique product. Our first step was to get online and complete a survey on each of our two dogs that provided information on their breed(s), weight, activity level, age, and more.
That information was used to to create a pre-measured food delivered directly to us. Each dog received a box with meals best suited to their caloric needs:
This premium food is based on a balanced diet that features reduced carbs and starches. Each meal comes in three packages: a premium kibble, a “stew” featuring healthy, natural proteins and vegetables, and a topping of dried seasonal fruits and vegetables.
The meal was easy to assemble starting with the kibble. The kibble is chosen from one of 21 varieties of premium kibble (including puppy, senior, and weight management formulas) from three brands: Wellness (which our dogs love), Newman’s Own, and LiveSmart. The specific formula is selected based on your dog’s profile. The kibble is then topped by the stew, which is an entree of hand-carved chicken in pumpkin soup. The final step is the topping of “Harvest Mix,” a blend of dried carrots, freeze dried broccoli, freeze dried spinach, freeze dried peas, freeze dried bananas, and more.
In all, it provides a meal that’s lower in carbs than a kibble-only meal and one that’s super easy to prepare (plus it’s delivered right to your door). And, of course, there’s the true test: your dog. Ours absolutely loved the food! A big paws up for Proportions!
