D-Line Decorative Cable Cover Review

One of the most common questions we receive (especially from new puppy parents) is how to stop your dog from chewing on electrical cords. Electrical cords–whether the cords for your Christmas tree or your computer–present a real risk of electrocution if chewed.
We recently received some small samples from D-Line, a company that produces decorative cable covers. We love these; these cord covers not only are effective in protecting your cords from sharp puppy teeth but they also blend into your decor and they’re easy to install.
The cable covers come in an array of colors and styles including quarter-round and half-round. Designed to fit above your baseboards and around your floor, the cord covers can also be used to hide cord drops (like the cords hanging down from a wall-mounted TV), protecting them from playful puppies.
The cord covers are hinged and click-lock into place so it’s easy to remove the cables (or add new ones) and they have a self-adhesive backing to install them where you need them.
We were especially interested in the wood fiber cord covers (photo, right) that can be stained to match your wood flooring or your baseboards. (We have natural toned pine walls in part of our house so we’re looking at this option for that part of our house.)
D-Line is sold at The Home Depot. A 6.5-foot length of quarter-round (without connectors) is presently priced at $11.99.
Here’s a video about how to install these cord covers:
