DogTipper Review: With two dogs and four cats in the house, we’re always on the lookout for deodorizers in our house. However, as I’ve written about before, I have asthma so I really steer clear of strong-smelling and perfumey products.
We received review bottles of MrGreen Dog Deodorizer and MrGreen Cat Deodorizer from the company so I was eager to put them to the test as soon as I saw they were both asthma and allergy friendly. Developed in cooperation with the National Research Council of Canada, the product sheets on these deodorizers said each is “not a masking agent but an odor eliminator and it works by attacking odors at the source using proven natural micronutrient biotechnology.”
Hmm…that sounded good so I decided to put it to the test (the true test) in our laundry room, the home of our cats’ litter boxes. How would the MrGreen Cat Deodorizer do? I sprayed it around the litter box, on the wall behind the boxes where overshooting of the litter box has occurred in the past.
The effect was instantaneous. The ammonia smell was gone, replaced by the fresh, light scent of lemongrass. It was not the heavy scent of perfume but just a nice, clean smell. (And the cats paid the fresh scent no mind, coming and going from the litter box as usual that afternoon.)
The next day, when cleaned the litter boxes we used the deodorizer to freshen the pan before we added the new litter. Ahh…a nice, fresh scent…
The MrGreen Cat Deodorizer can also be used:
- For Kennels. You can clean all surfaces with a mixture of 1 part deodorizer to 10 parts water. I guess four cats doesn’t qualify as a kennel but I’m going to use this mixture to wash down the wooden walls of the laundry room next.
- To remove skunk odor. The directions call for rinsing the animal with water then applying the deodorizer, massaging it into the fur, waiting five minutes, rinsing and repeating if necessary. Fortunately we did not have to put this usage to the test.
- As a shampoo. The mixture can be used with water as a shampoo.
Similarly, the MrGreen Dog Deodorizer can used in the same ways.
Both the cat and dog deodorizers are made with 100 percent natural and biodegradable ingredients with no chemicals and no bacteria (and no alcohol).
Look for MrGreen Pet Wash to debut soon as well as larger bottles of both the MrGreen Dog Deodorizer and MrGreen Cat Deodorizer.
A definite paws-up (both dog and cat paws!) for MrGreen Dog and Cat Deodorizers!
