What It Is: eco-friendly dog (or cat) bed

Manufacturer: Bowsers Pet Products; manufactured in Canada

DogTipper Review: Recently we were contacted by In Style Dog, an online retailer that sells modern and stylish luxury products for dogs, about reviewing one of their fashionable pet beds (they also sell beautiful furniture and other accessories for pets). We decided to review one of their most popular pet beds, the Eco-Buttercup bed, made by Bowsers. This bed is covered with a snuggly polar fleece that’s made from post consumer plastic bottles; every bed manufactured means at least 20 plastic bottles didn’t go to the landfill!

The bed comes in two sizes: the 24-inch Small and the 32-inch Large so this bed is really designed for toy breeds or cats. Tiki and Irie, our 65- and 75-pound girls, tried to fit…but it didn’t work. However, our cats took to the bed as soon as it hit the floor:

The above photo of Felix shows the bed stretched out and flat, perfect for letting your pet stretch out (especially in warmer weather) or great if you have a back sleeper rather than a curl-up and snuggle sleeper in the house. A handy drawstring runs around the perimeter of the bed…

Just tug the drawstring and secure it with the built-in lock and suddenly the bed turns into a cozy buttercup!

(Perpetual worriers when it comes to our pets, we were concerned about that drawstring when we first read about it. What if the drawstring when pulled got around your pet’s neck? We quickly saw that there’s no need to worry; the drawstring is open-ended so there’s no loop when the drawstring is pulled, just two individual strings.)

The Eco-Buttercup bed is machine washable and dryable and comes in two colors (this beautiful one is Sienna).

Since we’ve had this bed, it has been occupied around the clock…a big paws up for the Eco-Buttercup Bed!

Disclosure: In Style Dog provided us a complimentary Eco-Buttercup Bed for our review. We were not paid for this review and all opinions are entirely our own.
