Sponsor a Giveaway

DogTipper would love to help you promote your products and your business with a giveaway to our readers. Giveaways are very popular on DogTipper and help introduce our readers to products and services.

We promote our giveaways on our Facebook fan page (13,000+ fans), our Twitter account (18,000+ followers), and on contest websites on the Internet as well as pet blog hops. We’re always looking for products for dogs, cats (for our CatTipper.com site), and pet lovers to feature in our giveaways. We are looking for all types of products except those for negative reinforcement.

We do not charge for giveaways. However, to make the most of your giveaway, we have these requirements:

• Giveaways will follow a review of your product. Typically we run a review (there is no charge for a review) followed by the giveaway a few days later. This introduces our readers to the product; it also doubles your exposure. By separating the review and the giveaway posts, we create both evergreen content (review) and timely content (giveaway).

• Giveaways need to be for a minimum of $50 (retail) in product. This can be through a single product worth a minimum of $50, through a gift basket of several products for a total value of $50 or more, or through a giveaway with multiple winners, such a five winners of a $10 product. More valuable giveaways generate more reader interest and more exposure for your business.

• Unlike many blogs, we ask companies to ship prize products to us if we can send the prize to the winner via a flat rate postal box or smaller. (These prize products can be shipped to us when the review product is shipped.) For sized or personalized products, we ask for coupon codes or gift certificates to provide winners. When we send prizes, we enclose a postcard congratulating the winner and inviting them to send a photo of the prize and their pet to our “Winner’s Gallery.” These photos are published, and many prize winners send along reader reviews about the product as well, gaining further exposure to your product.

How Giveaways Are Conducted

We run our giveaways using Rafflecopter, a third-party widget that utilizes Random.org to select winners at random. We conduct each giveaway giving readers several entry options including liking the giveaway post, following us on Facebook, and more. With each giveaway, you may choose one of the following entry methods:

• invite entrants to visit your site to look at your products and leave a comment about which product they would like to win.
• ask for a Facebook like
• ask for a Twitter follow
• ask readers to subscribe to your newsletter
• ask readers to tweet a message (such as “I am entering a @dogtipper #giveaway to win a @sponsor prize! www.url.com.”)
• ask readers to follow another social media account (YouTube, Pinterest, etc.)

You may select any one method free of charge. If you would like additional entries, you may add as many as you like for $20 per method. This fee is waived for current BuySellAds advertisers, Twitter party sponsors, or for prizes with a retail value of $100 or more.

All giveaways will be disclosed per FTC guidelines. We cannot tie giveaways to a purchase. Also, we cannot ask entrants to post to your Facebook wall as a method of entry as this is in violation of Facebook rules.
