Wi-Fi is available at all Texas Safety Rest Areas and Travel Information Centers, found at the major highways into Texas as well as the State Capitol. When you connect at any of these locations, you’ll reach the TexTreks welcome page with real-time information on road conditions, weather, special events, local chamber and convention and visitors bureau sites, and more. Visit www.textreks.com for more information.

Safety Rest Areas have designated pet relief areas.

For current highway conditions across the state, visit Drive Texas, www.drivetexas.org, maintained by the Texas Department of Transportation. You can also call (800) 452-9292 for 24-hour automated road condition information and, during the spring, wildflower sightings. From 8am-6pm, you can all dial this number to speak with a Texas tourism counselor for information on attractions and events statewide.
