Vacuuming Up Fleas

Fleas are a seasonal problem for all dog owners but, depending on where you live, that season can be a very long one. There are many treatments available to keep your dog flea-free but one of the best ways to keep fleas out of your house–and off of your dog–is with frequent home vacuuming.

During the height of flea season, vacuum several times daily, every day. Frequent vacuuming will extract the fleas from your carpet as well as any flea eggs that are present. Be sure to change your vacuum bags more frequently than usual or, even better, use a bagless vacuum you empty with each use. And think what a clean home you’ll have!
