Scheduling Your Training Sessions

The scheduling of your dog’s training sessions is an important part of the training’s success. You want to do the training:

• when your dog is hungry
• when he’s already exercised
• after he’s already gone to the bathroom
• when you don’t feel rushed

How long should you plan for each training session? Start with five minutes and work up to about 15 minutes, just long enough to keep it fun for both of you. Your dog will be able to give you his full attention and he won’t tire of the training treats!
