Holiday Tip from Cesar Millan: Watch For Holiday Dangers

This week we’re covering holiday tips from the “Dog Whisperer” Cesar Millan. Today’s advice is good not only for those whose own dogs have access to their Christmas trees and holiday goodies but for those whose holiday visitors might be bringing dogs. Cesar says,

Beware of hazardous holiday items. Ingested poinsettia plants cause dogs to vomit; chocolate is poisonous to dogs; and tinsel has sent many a dog to the emergency room. Keep fragile ornaments toward the top of the Christmas tree; only place sturdy ones near the bottom.

Another hazard we’ve had to watch out for with our dogs: the Christmas tree lights. Maybe it’s the pretty colors or the connecting cords but those lights are just way too attractive to dogs. Be sure to supervise your dog around the lights.
