Helping Dogs with a Daily Click

Q: When does a mouse help a dog or a cat?
A: When it’s a daily mouseclick.
With just a simple click of your mouse every day, you can help homeless dogs and cats…without spending a penny yourself! In these tough economic times, it’s more important than ever to assist shelters with their expanding pet populations. One way to contribute that won’t impact your own budget at all is by taking part in one (or all!) of the several online projects that, through their own advertising sponsorship, provide food donations to deserving shelters. Some allow you to set up daily reminders to nudge you to make that daily click!

Each daily click provides 10 pieces of kibble to animal shelters to help feed dogs (freekibble.com) or cats (freekibblekat.com). Not only will you feel good for visiting these sites, but you’ll have fun, too. Every day, a different trivia question comes up in Bow Wow Trivia and Meow Trivia; click on an answer (right or wrong) and you’ve donated!
Think 10 pieces doesn’t sound like too much? Since June 1, 2008, FreeKibble has donated 107,874,020 pieces of dog and cat kibble–over 97 tons! These sites were created by Mimi Ausland, age 12, of Bend, Oregon…who proves that, regardless of age or resources, we all can do something important to help homeless animals!

A partner of Petfinder.com, daily clicks on this site go to provide food and care for homeless animals. You can set up daily reminders to email you a note that it’s time to make a click or join the Facebook fan page and get a reminder with your newsfeed.
When you click on the “Click to Help” button daily, your click goes to The Humane Society of the United States’ (HSUS) Rural Area Veterinary Services program; 100 percent of that donation goes to help spay and neuter, vaccinate, and provide checkups. The pets section is just one part of Care2, with 350 nonprofit partners and 9.4 million members.
