Barking at a Specific Stimulus

Does your dog bark like crazy as if on cue in certain situations…like when the doorbell rings? According to Dog Whisperer Cesar Millan, this type of barking is the #2 most common problem most people experience with their dogs. (See Millan’s choice for the #5, #4 and #3 most common problems as identified in his new Common Canine Misbehaviors DVD.)

Like other problems, though, this one can be addressed. According to Millan:

Take time to simulate the cause of the barking, and practice correcting your dog. If it’s the doorbell that sets your dog off, ring it when no one is coming over, so you can stay focused on the task at hand: helping your dog overcome this unwanted behavior.
