19032654.thbDo you have some travel planned? We’re so lucky in that Paris’ father can come stay with our dogs when we travel so they are able to stay in their own home. Other people we know find pet sitters to come hire to come to their home while some depend on neighbors to come by and tend to their pets.

What if you don’t have family or friends nearby and hiring a pet sitter is out of your budget? Check on the possibility of a pet sitter exchange. You can join together with other pet lovers through sites such as PetWatch Club, PetSwap USA, and Swap A Dog. These organizations bring together pet lovers who are looking for sitters so you can trade out pet sitting duties.

Search for “pet sitter exchange” and “pet sitting exchange” to find other groups and groups specific to your area. Once you find someone, it’s up to you to determine if you feel this person would be a good pet sitter for your dog (remember, these people aren’t bonded like many professional dog sitters) and to work out all the details of your arrangement.
