Are you ready for Cyber Monday, the day when online merchants tempt shoppers in an Internet version of Black Friday? Deep discounts as well as extras like free shipping abound on Cyber Monday–including savings on online pet purchases.
If you’ll be for shopping Cyber Monday deals, keep a few tips in mind:
- Search for Cyber Monday deals. Search for the item you’re seeking and the phrase “Cyber Monday” to find one-day deals. (We’ve compiled some Cyber Monday deals for pet lovers here on DogTipper and just ran across a great list of pet deals on Two Little Cavaliers.)
- Comparison shop. Just as if you were shopping on any day, spend a few minutes to comparison shop to find the best prices. Hop around to various sites but, to save time and money, check out price aggregator sites like www.pricegrabber.com and www.dealslist.com to compare prices with one search.
- Learn if you can pick it up at the store. If you’re shopping for a large item that will be expensive to ship like a dog house or crate, find out if in-store pickup is available. This, of course, is just an option with stores with a brick and mortar presence but it can be a big saver thanks to those shipping fees you’ll skip.
- Fetch free shipping. Free shipping is often tossed in the mix in Cyber Monday deals but, if you don’t find it, do a few more searches before placing that order. We always search for the store name and the phrase “free shipping” before we finalize an order; you’ll also find sites like www.freeshipping.org that have lots of shipping offers across the Web.
Don’t forget about Free Shipping Day, this year on Friday, December 17, 2010. On that date, an expected 1000+merchants — including many with pet goodies — will have free shipping offers with delivery by Christmas Eve in the continental US. Visit www.freeshippingday.com for details.
Finally, we wanted to pass along our own Cyber Monday offer: you can purchase a signed copy of our Barkonomics: Tips for Frugal Fidos book for $7.95, including free shipping in the US!
