Wonder how much to tip your pet sitter this holiday? Will you be giving your pet professional a gift? We just saw some interesting figures from a poll by SitterCity.com. While their poll of pet sitters, groomers, and walkers showed that 43 percent don’t expect a gift this year, the poll did reveal that 27 percent would like cash, 18 percent a gift certificate, 6 percent a handmade gift and 4 percent some kind of merchandise.

Recommended Tipping

And as for those holiday tips, here are recommended amounts according to SitterCity.com:

  • Dog Walker: 1-2 week’s pay
  • Pet Sitter: match the pay for the last job
  • Dog Groomer: 50-100 percent of a session
