USVI Hotel Offers Stay Three, Spay Free Package

Considering a Caribbean getaway this winter? Here’s a package we just received from the Hotel Caravelle on the US Virgin Island of St. Croix. Located in the heart of the community of Christiansted and right on the water, the hotel’s a convenient home base–and pet lovers find another good reason to stay: its Stay Three, Spay Free Package.
To celebrate Spay and Neuter month, during the month of February Hotel Caravelle will pay for the neutering of one animal for every three night booking in February 2010. Donations will be made to the Sunshine Foundation, a low-cost spay/neuter clinic that strives to end pet over-population on St. Croix.
“The Sunshine Foundation is a very progressive and community oriented organization that is positively impacting the lives of St. Croix’s cats and dogs,” said Sid Kalmans, owner of Hotel Caravelle, “Since February 2009, they have already spayed and neutered more than 350 pets including feral cats. We are thrilled to support their efforts.”

The Sunshine Foundation is at the Sugar Mill Veterinary Center. Their program “Operation End Overpopulation” offers surgery twice weekly and they are introducing their first Snip-Snip Sunday on Sunday, November 8, 2009 to accommodate pet owners who can’t get their pet in on a weekday, and on October 17 is the free feral cat spay/neuter day.
