January makes us all think about losing a little weight…and that includes on our pets as well. With 50 percent of the US dog and cat population overweight according to a study by the Association for Pet Obesity Prevention, it’s definitely a good time to start a healthy lifestyle.

To help pet lovers continue their resolutions to live healthy with their pets, Loews Hotels has created the Pumped-Up Pets package, which includes:

  • a deluxe room
  • workout tips for both the guest and their pet
  • a Zisc dog Frisbee
  • a specially-created and veterinarian-approved “Scratch My Flat Belly” meal for pets

Studies show that people who diet and exercise with their pet stick to it, well, like a dog with a bone! In fact, research conducted by Northwestern Memorial Hospital revealed that more than 60% of people who began an eating and exercise program with their pets stuck to the program for a year.

Dates: The Pumped-Up Pets package, offered at 17 Loews Hotels throughout the U.S. and Canada, is available through May 1, 2010.

Price: Pricing starts at $124 per night and is subject to availability.

Pet guests at Loews Hotels (as part of the Loews Loves Pets program) receive gourmet room service, specialized bedding, a pet amenity, and guest services designed to make pets and their owners feel right at home.
