Dog Park at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Intl. Airport

Last week we had the opportunity to spend a couple of days in Atlanta. We flew into Atlanta’s busy Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport so our first stop (even though we weren’t flying with our dogs) was to check out the dog park which opened in late 2009.
The off-leash park spans about 1,000 square feet and it can accommodate up to two dogs at a time. The park is double gated and offers biodegradable waste bags and a big grassy area for the dogs to enjoy after their flight. You’ll find two original sculptures here, too, inspired by the artist’s own dog, Abby.
The dog park is located at the airport’s new Ground Transportation center (located at the west end of the terminal) which is where you’ll find taxis, hotel shuttles, and a train to the rental car center.
