Newtown Dream Dog Park, Johns Creek, Georgia

When we travel, we love to visit great dog parks…even when we don’t have the dogs with us. We’ve visited Dallas’ White Rock Lake dog park and Houston’s Millie Bush Dog Park without Irie and Tiki to check out the facilities and just to spend a few minutes watching dogs enjoy a great dog park.

Today we were writing about the voting in the Beneful Dream Dog Contest and ran across these photos from the unveiling of the first Dream Dog Park; this is the Newtown Dog Park in Johns Creek, Georgia…definitely one we’d love to visit one day. This community dog park was awarded a $500,000 renovation from the Beneful® brand after local resident Pat McNeely and his Siberian Husky Koda (seen in photo, above) were named Grand Prize Winner in last year’s Beneful® WagWorld® Dream Dog Park Contest.

The Beneful Dream Team, led by TV design expert Jason Cameron (who is seen on the DIY Network) and pet expert Arden Moore, author of numerous pet books, worked with Pat and Koda’s ideas and transformed the Newtown Dog Park with some interactive and unique elements. Today the redesigned park includes a giant bone-shaped ramp with tunnels, two water splash pads and a running trail.

“There’s nothing I love more than spending time with my dog CJ, and one of our favorite places to go is the local dog park, which is why I was excited to team up with Beneful to create its first Dream Dog Park,” said Jason Cameron (with his dog, above), TV personality and head designer for the Beneful WagWorld Dream Dog Park Contest.“ For years to come, the Newtown Dog Park – and all of its larger-than-life elements – will provide area dog owners and their four-legged companions a space where they can take a break from everyday life and focus on celebrating the time they have together.”
