Affinia Manhattan To Pamper Pups in Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show

Spots are the stars of the 137th annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, and in true celebrity style the canine contenders will prepare for their “Best in Show” showdown at the official hotel for the two-day event.

Providing a red carpet experience for many of this year’s record 3,200 competing Rovers, the pet-friendly Affinia Manhattan– which is located across from Madison Square Garden– is offering:

  • A spacious terrace suite which will be transformed into a complimentary Happy Tails Suite, where the Fidos can keep their physiques fit on pet treadmills courtesy of DogTread. (Additional treadmills will be available for private guestroom use, upon request.)  The Happy Tails Suite will be open Thursday, February 7 from 12p.m. – midnight and Friday, February 8 through Wednesday, February 13 from 5 a.m. – midnight.
  • A photo shoot filled with entertaining props so pups can practice their winning poses.
  • A Doggie Delights menu including sauteed beef tips, a six-ounce sliced steak, and three-ounce simply grilled steak at Niles New York City restaurant for the four-legged friends of Westminster Kennel Dog Show.
  • The option for guests to add a donation to the Humane Society of New York onto their hotel bill at check-in.

Affinia Manhattan will use this occasion to provide a sneak peek of its Happy Tails program, which includes a Jax & Bones plush dog bed and chew toys, customized treats, puppy stairs and a dog bowl. In celebration, a special Happy Hour will be hosted for guests and their pups on Friday, February 8 from 5-6p.m.

“The Affinia Manhattan is passionate about pets, which has made for a solid partnership with the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show,” said Andrea McConnon, the hotel’s director of sales. “Our year-round pet program ensures our guests and their dogs have a comfortable experience customized to their needs as well as their dogs.”

Rates at Affinia Manhattan start at $169 per night, double occupancy, through February 28, 2013. There is a pet fee of $75 per dog. For information or to book, visit or call
